The End of JobKeeper

By Zach Alexopoulos

08 April 2021

The final JobKeeper payment will be processed this month, April 2021.

This government program was developed to support businesses and workers throughout the pandemic, but as COVID-19 vaccine rollouts continue and the nation starts to get a better handle on the virus, this program will now cease.

Our team of Data Scientists have determined that this will likely have a greater impact in some Australian suburbs than others – including tourist hotspots such as Cairns (QLD) or a city like Melbourne (VIC), where lockdowns were more regular and far more long-lasting than those experienced in other Australian States.

The Red Fox Group’s very own 3121 is on the top 10 list of Melbourne postcodes that had the largest amount of JobKeeper applications.

On top of this, the majority of the country’s top 10 postcodes are in Victoria, as that state’s long lockdown is likely still having after-effects.

Here are the top 10 Australian Postcodes by the number of JobKeeper applications in January according to our SwiftFox Gov CRM which derives its data from figures produced by the Federal Treasury. January is the latest month for which data is available.
